Women in music 60s thru the 80s – so many talents indeed. I narrowed my choices down to one from each decade, and here they are in order:
“Her Majesty of Melisma,” says The Top Tens, ‘no one can handle the treacherous key changes and time signature shifts of the Bacharach / songbook as can classy, cool sophisticated Dionne Warwick.’
” There were a lot of great female singers of the 70’s, but as far as vocal quality, control, and crystal clarity, Agnetha Faltskog is probably the best choice.” Here she is with the hit that showcased her vocal prowess –
And “one of the world’s best-selling artists,” Gloria Estefan is also ‘the most successful crossover performer in Latin music of all time.’ On a side note I find it interesting that she has a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in French. But Words… 🙂
Monday’s Music Moves Me is hosted by the wonderful XmasDolly and her lovely co-conductors JAmerican Spice, Stacy Uncorked, Cathy Kennedy’s Blog and Naila Moon

Those are awesome choices! So much great music over the decades, right? I had a Blonde Moment and missed the girly part of the theme…but at least the bands I chose have ‘girl’ hair! 😉 Have a great week! 🙂
Should I Stay or Should I Go because I’m Just A Gigolo Livin’ On A Prayer, Sweet Child O’ Mine – Word Up!

ABBA was a fabulous musical group with two dynamic female voices. Excellent choice with Gloria Estefan. She really rocked the 80s. I was first introduced to her when Miami Vice hit the TV screen. I loved that show! Anyway, I believe she was part of Miami Sound Machine at the time. She always makes me wanna dance when I hear her music playing. It’s great to have you on the dance floor this morning, and thanks for putting the boogie in my move this morning. 😉
