Mourners play mahjong
roadside wake in progress
coins fill the alms jar
There is ginger tea
unnecessary wailing
bright bulbs like searchlight
Huge truck loses brakes
crashes hut, plows the coffin
poor dead dies again

Quite a tale in only three verses! I loved the second verse especially and the humor in it!
I’m glad you spotted the humour.
Beautifully macabre.
Lovely set!
So so sad, when dead dies again!
Fragrant memories
oh, how dark!
The first haiku. Amazing!
Very very innovative. Enjoyed them

Wonderful set, Hazel. The dead dies again. How awfully tragic. 🙂
The last one is so true!
Lots of great imagery… Enjoyed this.
I’ve been writing my haiku on my blogspot blog.
