Poets participating in the September 2012 Haiku Heights Challenge are today composing lines about that place where cows graze, butterflies flutter merrily, mushrooms grow fat and a river gurgles by. The prompt conjures an image of Linguistics class for me ages ago where we gave our tongues a nice work-out with Over in the Meadow “in the sand, in the sun lived an old mother toady and her today little one … and they winked and they blinked in the sand in the sun.’

From a not too distant past, Twilight’s New Moon entertained us with a beautiful melody created off ivory keys. Yes… they’re mostly plastic now but I like my daydreams made with material from way before 1920.
