A pink carabao
stirs to interlude of crows
farm wakes up at dawn

~ Haiku Heights September 2012 Challenge ~

Those childhood summers at the grandparents’ rice farm. Mornings were glorious with all sorts of animals waking up.  I had my own prize water buffalo, a gift from a doting Grandpa, which I named Pinky as she was pinkish, and so huge. She, along with the rest of the herd, was later stolen by NPA bandits, a group designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. State Department.
